Tiger Talent Show

I am very happy, and scared, to be in a skit in the talent show. I wrote the skit and I'm one of the lead characters, but I'm horrified of public speaking. One of my fears is not that I might forget my lines, for it would be shameful for the author of a play to not know her lines, but that every one will hate the play I wrote. I know at last year's talent show kids said that the skit was boring and silly. I hope my play won't be judged that bad, because I worked very hard to write it. Even if everyone hates my play, I still had a fun time developing the play and making new friends.

P.E. Problems

I haven't really realized how out of shape I was until P.E. started again this quarter. I haven't really been exercising before P.E. and now I am sore after ever class. The only good thing about P.E. is the games. My favorite game is prison ball. It's pretty much dodge ball, but if you get hit you have to go to "prison", or the back of the gym. Hopefully, things will get better in my P.E. class.

Pride

Pride was a very good movie, in my opinion. It surprises me still that people used to be treated that way. The movie Pride had a good lesson and was based off of a true story. I'm glad that people aren't treated that way any more, and hope that problems similar to these never arise again. Even though I missed the whole middle portion off the movie, due to being absent, I still understood most of it. I'm very glad I was able to see this movie. My favorite character was probably the coach of the PDR swim team because he was so determined to help those kids learn how to swim and even become a team. I would definitely watch this movie again.

The Worst Thing

The worst thing a parent can do to a child, in my opinion, is to fight in front of their kid. And not just arguing, I mean to the point that lives are on the line. Throwing plates, breaking things that are important to each other, one hides in the bathroom while the other beats on the door with anything they can find. How does this effect the kid, you ask? After the fight cools down, they both come into the kid's room and promises that it will never happen again. But, more likely than not, it won't be the last time they fight. That's the worst thing, in my opinion.

Silhouetted by the Blue

A few days ago, I had borrowed a book from the library called Silhouetted by the Blue. It's a Truman so I decided to read it. It's a bit different than the other Truman's I had read. It is about a girl named Serena who had lost her Mother a year ago and has to take care of her eight year old brother and her father, who "has the Blue" or is depressed. On top of having to take care of her family on her own, she has to take care of her work at school, and her lead role in the play The Wiz. I haven't finished the book yet, but so far it has been a great read.

My Thoughts on QR Codes

QR codes are squares with codes that you scan with your phone to lead you to a web page. I've learned that QR codes are everywhere. On menus, shirts, posters. I don't really like QR codes that much because they can become confusing. I didn't really understand what I was doing and I didn't really like the project. I will probably avoid making QR codes in the future. I hope the next project we do will be more fun.
